Pedagogic Concept

Our principals are based on the UNESCO Frame of Orientation for early childhood education and care in Switzerland.

  • Physical and mental well-being - Feeling comfortable helps the child to be active and curious.
  • Communication - Children gain a versatile view about themselves and the world through communication with others.
  • Affiliation and Participation - Every child wants to feel welcome and wants to participate in life from birth.
  • Reinforcement and Authorisation - All reactions a child receives personally or in regards to their behaviour, influences their view about themselves.
  • Inclusion and Acceptance of differences - Every child needs a place in Society.
  • Holism and Appropriateness - Young children learn with all senses, guided by their interests and experiences.

Our pedagogic actions are guided through observation, reflection and documentation. This helps us to stimulate educational processes and we design a new learning environment. We attentively help children with transitions in daily life

Our mission

Children create the center of our attention. In a loving environment we build strong friendships with the children to gain trust in each other. Children have a natural drive to learn. They learn during play and play while they learn. Children are curious and need to learn to be self-determined. We believe children learn best when they are having fun. It brings them a sustainable learning effect as well a motivation. We carefully plan the daily structure with a variety of activities, regular resting and free-play phases to create a versatile environment. Role play helps us to process conflicts and daily life situations.

Themes

Our pedagogic work is structured into themes. The team plans the themes in regular team meetings. Our planing is strongly influenced by cultural and traditional events such as Carnival, Halloween and Christmas.

Our regular activities include a weekly visit to the local sports hall, regular forest days from March until the end of October, cooking and baking with children, daily English play sequences, creative projects and movement games.
